The Catalyst Awards support researchers to take an entrepreneurial approach, using their research to create impactful and scalable products and services that improve later life.
Award winners gain a £62,500 grant from UKRI (from a total fund of £1.25m for this round) and a structured programme of personal development, product and enterprise support from Zinc. Our application process is designed to be supportive and to help you develop your ideas. Over 50 researchers have benefited from being part of our cohorts so far.

Researchers from any discipline are encouraged to apply and we are interested in proposals that address issues in any area that impacts quality of later life (from housing to communities, finances to health, and anything in between).
The Catalyst Awards are designed to create impact beyond academic research. We are looking for early-stage, high-risk ideas that have potential for impact at scale.
Our library of resources can help you to learn what we mean by an entrepreneurial approach and how taking this approach can help to create products and services alongside a strategy to get them into the hands of everyone who needs them.
